DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office say a man has been charged in connection with a November shooting that killed Shaun Benson.
18-year-old Caleb Willis was identified as a suspect in the November 27 shooting that killed Benson and injured another person in Harrison Township.
The Sheriff’s Office says Willis had an active warrant issued by the Cincinnati Police for aggravated burglary and abduction. Willis was arrested in Cincinnati on December 22. Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office interviewed Willis at the Cincinnati Police Department. The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office then approved a warrant and charges of murder, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of aggravated robbery.
Willis will be extradited to Montgomery County after his charges in Hamilton County are resolved.
