LINDEN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A married couple were found dead after storms destroyed their Perry County home on Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as 70-year-old Antonio Yzaguirre and his 69-year-old wife, Annie. They had just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

As many as four homes on the Yzaguirre’s street were destroyed by the storms.

The Tennessee Department of Agency (TEMA) has declared a Level III State of Emergency.

Two of the hardest hit were Perry and Wayne counties, where TEMA will be deploying officials to assist with storm response.

The storms began sweeping through from the west around 4 p.m., bringing heavy rain and severely damaging winds.

Sheriff Weems in Perry County told News 2 the winds “exploded the home” on Highway 412 East in Linden while the victims were inside and carried the debris up to 200 yards away.
