DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a Family Dollar was held up on New Year’s Eve.
It happened at the store located at 440 North James H McGee Boulevard around 9 a.m. Thursday.
The manager told police a man walked into the store, confronted him, and announced it was a robbery.
Officials said the suspect kept his hand in his pocket, implying he had a gun, but never showed a weapon. They also said he was wearing gloves.
Police said the suspect forced the manager to open the register and safe and empty them. The suspect then ran out the front door.
Officers estimate the suspect got away with more than $575 in cash.
