Man stabbed multiple times with a screwdriver

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police were called to an apartment building after a man was stabbed multiple times with a screwdriver.

Officials responded to the 700 block of Wyoming Street after 1:45 p.m. Friday.

Neighbors told police they heard yelling and saw the 55-year-old victim on the sidewalk, bloody, with a man standing over him with a screwdriver and another man standing nearby.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with at least 11 stab wounds. They said he was highly intoxicated. Police said they did not believe his injuries were life-threatening.

The victim told police that he and the two men were in his apartment when an argument ensued. The victim said it poured out into the street, and the two ended up stabbing him.

Police caught up with one man who they report was carrying a bloody screwdriver. Officers said the man was also bloody and had an injury to his eye. He was taken into custody and then taken to the hospital.

Authorities are still investigating.
