AAA crews prepare for busy morning ahead of snowfall

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) –  The AAA office in Huber Heights will be working with a full staff Monday morning, in case the snow and freezing temperatures put a few snags in people’s commute.

“What’s common with this weather is people sliding off the road, a lot of dead batteries, cars that won’t start for various reasons, said AAA fleet supervisor, Mike Acopine.

The snow forecasted Monday morning isn’t much. One inch at most predicted for some areas of the Miami Valley but for many it’s the first time heading into work after time off.

“With the weather moving in a Monday after a holiday weekend is always busy so you add the weather to it we’re expecting to be very busy in the morning,” Acopine said.

The car service provider suggests topping off your vehicle’s fluids and checking your batteries before heading out. If everything’s in check and you’re ready to hit the road, Acopine wants to remind drivers to take it slow.

“You don’t want to be in a hurry when it’s busy out there and when the weather hits. That’s for sure,” said Acopine.

Officials recommend leaving for work early and while on the road, leave a good amount of space in front of you and the vehicle in front of you.
