DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times.

Officers responded to Roosevelt and Danner avenues after 9 p.m. Monday.

The victim was found nearby in a house in the 1300 block of Trieschman Avenue. Officials said they believe this is where a friend or family member lives, and the victim ran there after he was shot.

“Early indication is he was walking in the area of Danner and Roosevelt there, and two individuals poached him out of the alley and began firing at him for unknown reasons,” said Dayton Police Lt. Mark Ponichtera.

Police said the victim had multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived and took him out of the house on a stretcher and rushed him to Miami Valley Hospital.

Officials said the victim is in stable condition.

No word of any arrests or the motive behind the shooting.

Officers are still investigating. If you have any information that could help, call Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867.
