DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating a break-in at a liquor store.

Officials were called to Bob’s Beer & Wine located at 2501 East Third Street around 4:30 a.m. Friday after an alarm sounded.

When officers arrived, they found the front window had been pulled out of the jam and portions of the plywood frame had been pulled out along with the window. They said the metals bars covering the window also appeared to have been bent.

Police met with an employee. They said surveillance video showed after 2 a.m. two men in hoodies walked around the building, damaged the window, and then fled the scene. Police said a couple hours later, video shows a man climbing through the front window, grabbing cigarettes, and climbing back out the window. Police said the suspect dropped most of the cigarettes on the ground. They said the man then ran from the scene accompanied by another man who was likely acting as a lookout.

Police said it’s unknown right now how many packs of cigarettes were stolen.

Dayton Police are still investigating. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867.
