ST. PARIS, Ohio (WDTN) – Emergency crews were called to a two-car crash just after 6:00 Monday morning.

The accident happened at the intersection of OH-235 and OH-55 in St. Paris. Careflight was called to the scene.

Captain David Rapp with the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office tells 2 NEWS that while this incident is under investigation, it appears a black Saturn ran a stop sign at the intersection and crossed in front of an SUV carrying a woman and two children.

The driver of the Saturn, 19-year-old Kristina Watters, from Troy, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where she is in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV had minor injuries and the children were unhurt.

Both cars suffered heavy damage.
