Questions surround skinned cow in street

NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) – Clark County Deputies were dispatched in response to a call of a skinned cow lying in the middle of a street on Friday.

A man has been charged in connection of the carcass. Ethan Manuel, of Tipp City, is reportedly the owner of the cow, who says the cow died after giving birth.

The call came in at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday that a cow was reportedly located on the 6300 block of Addison-Carlisle Road in New Carlisle.

The cow was being transported to “a location” to be disposed of, Manuel told the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, according to an updated report. The cow fell off the truck while en route to that location, according to the report.

“Mr. Manuel stated that he back-tracked his route, but was unable to locate the animal. When he saw the story on the local news, he contacted the Clark County Sheriff’s Office to explain what happened,” the report said.

Manuel has been charged with failing to secure a load on a motor vehicle. He is expected in court at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
