Winter Weather Advisory issued for Miami Valley

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM due to continued blowing/drifting snow and poor visibility at times

Cities impacted include Dayton, Troy, Sidney, Wapakoneta, Celina, Greenville, Richmond, Eaton, Oxford, Springboro, Wilmington, Xenia, Springfield, Urbana and Bellefontaine, among others.

STORM TEAM 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings says while the accumulating snow has ended there still may be blowing and drifting snow.  Winds will be gusting as high as 30 and 40 m.p.h.

The blowing and drifting snow will reduce visibility at times throughout the night.

Now that the bulk of the snow has ended the cold temperatures are taking over.  We’ve already seen our highs for the day earlier this morning.  Temperatures continue to drop through the afternoon and will fall into the signal digits by Wednesday morning.  Wind chill values will drop below zero for most of the area.
