Eaton Police I.D. victims in triple stabbing

EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police say someone broke into a home in the 400 block of East Israel Street and stabbed three people with a kitchen knife.

James W. Hartley, 32, was taken into custody on charges of felonious assault, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and aggravated menacing after a stabbing in Eaton Wednesday. (Photo provided by Eaton Police Dept.)

Eaton Police responded to the triple stabbing a little after 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victims were taken to the Preble County Medical Center in Eaton.

They have been identified as 35-year-old Corinna Crank, 40-year-old Scott Chessman and 58-year-old Peggy Crank. Officials believe one of the victims may be the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.

Corinna Crank is suffering from life-threatening injuries, Chessman is expected to be okay and Peggy Crank has been treated and released from the hospital.

James W. Hartley, 32, was taken into custody on charges of felonious assault, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and aggravated menacing.

Officials say he was found and arrested walking down a street.
