GERMANTOWN, Ohio (WDTN) – Fire crews say a Germantown home is a total loss after a fire.

A passerby reported the fire in the 8700 block of Boomershine Road just after 11 Wednesday night.

Crews say they could see the glow of the fire from about a mile away from the scene.

Parts of the roof started to collapse during the blaze. Firefighters on the scene say in addition to the fire, crews had to deal with the weather.

Chief Dan Allred of Germantown Fire/EMS said, “The cold weather, obviously the slick driveway, snow on the ground tends to make stretching hose lines a little more difficult.”

Everyone in the home and their pets are accounted for. No injuries were reported.

The state Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
