Springfield shooting suspect in court

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – A Clark County murder suspect was in court Friday morning.

Springfield Police say they arrested 18-year-old Deondre Wilgus Thursday.

Wilgus is accused in the shooting death of 37-year-old Danyale Piersoll on January 2. Wilgus was in court Friday morning. He pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

Wilgus is now in the Clark County jail being held on a $100,000 bond.

Police found Piersoll in the 600 block of East Southern Avenue. It was the first homicide of the year in Clark County.
