Shooting victim flags down deputy for help

HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting in Harrison Township.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies said Thursday morning the victim, a 71-year-old man, told them he had been robbed and shot.

The victim told deputies he was parked in the 3800 block of North Dixie Drive at the North Plaza Shopping Center when he was approached by another man. The victim said he was forced at gunpoint to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash. Deputies say the victim reports a struggle began there over the handgun, the gun went off and the victim was struck.

The suspect, only described as a black male, fled on foot.

The victim flagged a deputy down in the 5200 block of North Dixie Drive after the incident. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Wednesday night, deputies taped off the restaurant parking lot and were searching the victim’s vehicle for evidence.This case is still under investigation.
