DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dozens gathered Saturday afternoon to pay tribute to a 13-month-old killed by gunfire.

The community prayed for Elijah J. Johnson near the site where he was shot on Queens Avenue January 14. Johnson was caught in the crossfire during a triple shooting. Police believe the 25-year-old man holding him was the intended targeted.

As members of the community gathered for their own vigil, a memorial service was held for the little boy at Evergreen Baptist Church, 519 E. Locust Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

Authorities have arrested several people in connection with the shooting. Police confirmed Dontay King and Shawn Smith are officially being considered suspects. Montgomery County prosecutors are now considering charges, including murder.
