Moderate to heavy weather to move in to Dayton area Tuesday night

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Heavy rainfall will continue through the overnight hours.  A Flood Advisory is in effect until 4:15 a.m. for Butler, Preble, Montgomery and Darke Counties and until 4 a.m. for Wayne County Indiana.

“Most of the area has already picked up three quarters of an inch of rain,” Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings said, “this much rain in a short amount of time may produce localized flooding.”

The rain will end in time for the morning commute but it will be windy throughout the afternoon Wednesday.

“Winds will gust up to 30 and 35 m.p.h. on Wednesday,” Hastings said.

Before reaching Dayton, storms rolled through Southern Indiana and another line is forming in Eastern Illinois.
