Although the episode “Jeopardy! College Tournament of Champions” was filmed in early January in Los Angeles,  the episode hit the airwaves Tuesday evening.

The star was there. Emily Bingham was able to cheer herself on with her fellow friends and classmates, organized by the The Wright State Alumni Association.

Fifteen of America’s brightest college students are competing for a $100,000 grand prize and a spot in the next Tournament of Champions, according to the Jeopardy! website.

The two-week event kicks off Feb. 1 and wraps up Feb. 12 right here on Channel 2.

Bingham is a double major in literature and marketing at Wright State but says she’s been studying hard for Jeopardy in the areas she knows her weaknesses are in.

“We at JEOPARDY! always look forward to the College Championship and the unique competitive energy it brings to our stage,” said show host Alex Trebek in a statement. “The contestants are enormously proud to be representing their schools, and, in turn, their schools should be proud to be represented by this clever, energetic group. I hope their classmates and instructors, along with the rest of our viewers, will enjoy watching them play as much as we did.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
