The Ohio State Highway Patrol is participating in a multi-state highway patrol project started at midnight along I-75.
Troopers from Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio will be placing an emphasis on speed, seatbelts, and impaired driving patrols this weekend.
Organizers of the “6 State Trooper Project” say it’s their goal this and every weekend to make sure everyone in every state gets home safely.
OSP handed out more than 10,000 seat belt violations in 2015; and more than 2,700 OVI arrests were made in the same year. The effort will attempt to crackdown on both.
The initiative runs until Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
