URS announces major expansion

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — United Rehabilitation is planning a big expansion.

The news broke Saturday night during URS’ 60th Anniversary Gala.

URS helps children and adults with developmental disabilities. The need for their services has grown so much that some programs are at capacity, with waiting lists two years long.

Saturday night URS announced the $6 million dollar “Unlocking Possibilities” campaign. The expansion will add almost 22,000 square feet to the current center in Huber Heights, making room for 100 more clients.

“And we’re really excited because so many people have already expressed an interest in helping us ensure the fact that these kids and adults have a place to come to and will have the services that they need,” said Executive Director Dennis Grant.

Groundbreaking is Leap Day, Monday, February 29.
