Babysitter, 5 kids get out of home safely after fire sparks

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — Fire officials are looking into what started a fire in a Trotwood home.

Crews were called to the 1300 block of Watkins Place after 11 a.m. Saturday.

According to fire officials, a woman was babysitting five children when the fire sparked. They all made it out of the home safely thanks to some smoke detectors that sounded. No one was hurt.

The fire was contained to one room. The family was allowed back in the house once firefighters knocked down the flames.
