Dayton police search for shooter after man shot in leg

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are searching through a Dayton neighborhood after they say a man was shot in the leg.

Dayton police were dispatched to the 100 block of Elwood Avenue around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers said the victim was a 45-year-old man from Trotwood.

Police said the shooter may have taken off from the scene.

Officers were seen searching the area during the investigation.

Dispatchers said officers are looking for a black Chrysler which they believe the shooter may used to get away.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and is expected to recover.
