COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Billy Dee Anderson was arraigned and charged with six counts of rape and one count of kidnapping.

Anderson, 31, pleaded not guilty to the charges and was given a $1.2 million bond Wednesday by a Franklin County judge.

While in the bank, Anderson expressed an interest in renting a safe-deposit box, police have said. He was escorted by the victim to a remote part of the bank, and allegedly held her against her will and raped her.

Anderson had recently been released from prison after serving a 3-1/2 year sentence from a 2012 conviction for abduction and attempted robbery.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said Anderson faces in excess of 50 years in prison if he is found guilty.
