Springfield handing out smoke detectors

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) –  The City of Springfield announced Wednesday the Fire Rescue Division is installing free smoke detectors in homes.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant helps pay for the program.

Residential smoke detectors are installed for free for Springfield residents 65-years-old or older.

Anyone who lives in the city limits and meets the age requirement can call the Springfield Fire Rescue Division at (937) 324-7605.
