DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Lucky’s Taproom and Eatery in the Oregon District is hoping to open next week after an outbreak of sickness according to its Facebook page.
In a message on its Facebook page, owner Andrew Trick, stated, “We will be open for full service, at the earliest, next Tuesday March 15th.”
According to the posting, an inspection is scheduled for Friday morning. After the restaurant passes inspection, the owner said it will be open for dinner with a “limited menu including burgers, dogs and beer.”
Lucky’s has been closed temporarily since February 29 after some people reported getting sick after eating there. Of the 80 people who reported becoming sick, 20 people have tested positive for salmonella and five were admitted to local hospitals, according to Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County.
After food samples were sent to the Ohio Department of Health in Columbus, the restaurant’s mayonnaise tested positive for salmonella bacteria.
Lucky’s was last inspected in November by Public Health officials with no violations.
