VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Vandalia police were called to 8200 Sagraves Drive Thursday morning.
The call came in as a domestic disturbance involving a possible stabbing. When officers arrived, they spoke to a 36-year old woman outside of the house who said her estranged husband showed up armed with a knife, according to a press release from the police department.
The release goes on to say, a confrontation between the 41-year old estranged husband and a 35-year old male resident broke out. During the fight, the 35-year old suffered several cuts. Police say the estranged husband suffered several cuts and a gunshot wound to the leg.
“We have had prior calls at this residence involving these parties. A little over a year ago, we were dispatched on a similar incident and charges were presented. I know charges are now being reviewed and processed by the prosecutor’s office against the estranged husband,” said Lt. Kurt Althouse, Vandalia Police Department.
Both were transported to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident is now being investigated by the Vandalia Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section.
