HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Speed is a possible factor in a crash that injured two people, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened in the area of Riverside Drive and Old Riverside Drive after 12 a.m. Sunday. When deputies arrived, they found two people trapped in the vehicle and crews had to extricate them.

Deputies said a black 2015 Chevy Malibu Maxx hit a storm drain, went off the road, continued up an embankment, and hit a tree. The vehicle then traveled back down the embankment and came to rest in the northbound lanes.

The 21-year-old male driver was taken to Grandview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The 25-year-old female passenger was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
