DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Nearly $3,000 in cash and a gun was seized from a vehicle in a fast food parking lot.
Police were called to Rally’s located at 1205 North Gettysburg Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after someone said an SUV was parked at the drive-thru window and a person pointed a gun at employees and refused to leave.
Officers said when they arrived, the suspects were no longer in the Rally’s parking lot and were next door in the McDonald’s drive-thru.
Police ordered five people out of the maroon Chevy Tahoe. Officials said one of the passengers was carrying a large amount of money in his front pants pocket. Police said he was being uncooperative when he was patted down, and despite verbal commands he resisted. He was arrested for resisting arrest. The money seized totaled $2,990. Police said they also found a gun hidden in between the seat.
The five were taken into custody to speak with detectives. Two were arrested on charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
