More than 200 school children from Kinder Elementary attended the event Wednesday morning.  The students were treated to a puppet show as part of the festivities.

The new library will feature a puppet theater and story room with a stars theme to honor Miamisburg’s identity as “Ohio’s Star City.” Four original art installations by local artists will be on permanent display.

Some of the other amenities to be included in the new Library are a quiet reading room with a fireplace, a dedicated teen area, a larger community room, group rooms, and new technology.

This is the latest construction project in the Dayton Metro Library’s Libraries for a Smarter Future facilities improvement plan, made possible by a bond issue that was approved by voters in 2012.

The MIami Township branch was expanded and renovated last year.  That location held a re-opening in November.
