Victim ID’d in deadly shooting in Dayton neighborhood

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton police said one person is dead after a shooting.

Officers were called to the area around James H. McGee Boulevard and Third Street just before 9:30 p.m on Saturday.

Police said it started with a dispute. They said one man shot another in the chest. Officers said the victim then drove away with a couple passengers in the vehicle and then crashed due to his injuries. Officials said the front left tire was sheared off from when he hit a curb and tried to get away.

Police confirmed the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, the victim’s name is Gary Tisdale, 38.

A suspect is in police custody.

Officials said they are looking at three different locations for evidence.
