Severe thunderstorms roll through Miami Valley

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado warning came late to the Miami Valley Easter Sunday.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings began being issued around 8 p.m. in the western counties and moved to the east at a rapid rate.

A tornado warning was briefly issued around 11 p.m. in Shelby County but was cancelled minutes later.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is warning people to beware of high winds and hail. They also warn drivers to use caution due to standing water on the roadways.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Davis is keeping an eye on high winds that could reach speeds of 60 m.p.h.

Champaign, Clark, Logan, Miami and Shelby Counties all have severe weather warnings until 11:45 Sunday night.
