Local school district hosts Google

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – A local school district hosted Google Tuesday for a forum on technology.

Representatives from more than 20 Ohio school districts came to Kettering for a Google Education Leadership round-table. The goal is to teach new ways to help students learn through technology.

“That platform has enabled us to allow our teachers and our students to collaborate electronically and to practice and work on and develop 21st century skills that they’re going to need both for college and career,” said Chris Merritt, Chief Technology Officer for Kettering City School District.

Kettering school officials say students of all ages now have access to electronic devices and districts should use that technology to teach them.
