DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The wife of James M. Lane was reportedly leaving a support group for victims of domestic violence when her estranged husband began stalking her, according to a Riverside police report.
Lane was arraigned on multiple charges — including murder, attempted kidnapping, violation of a protection order, among others — Monday.
She initially called police around 2 p.m. March 16 while driving on Spinning Road, approaching Airway Road when she reportedly saw James Lane on Airway Road and he began following her. When she called police she advised them that there is an active protection order in place, according to the report.
She said “she is afraid of him and what he will do to her,” according to the report. When police located James Lane on the roadway on March 16, officers pulled him over and took him into custody without incident.
Upon a police search, officers found a stun gun, handgun, nearly $760, white plastic bag, Duct tape, black latex gloves, zip ties, a lock picking set
