High speed chase ends with 2 people behind bars

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people are behind bars after an attempted traffic stop leads to a high-speed chase. It began near Needmore Road and SR 202 when Huber Heights Police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.

Police say the driver refused to stop and the officer pursued them onto I-75. The pursuit continued when the driver exited onto Benchwood then turned onto Dixie. It ended on Jewelstone, when the driver stopped and two people fled the vehicle.

Several agencies were called to search for the people. A K-9 unit was used to locate both people, who were apprehended and taken to the County Jail.

The driver had several warrants and pending charges. The passenger was charged with obstruction. Huber Heights Police say both suspects have possible ties to other criminal activity in the area.
