SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people are in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital after a shooting in Springfield. It happened in the 600 block of East Cassilly just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Springfield Police responded to a call of shots fired. They say first responders found a 38-year-old woman on the porch and a 17-year-old teen in the house, both with gunshot wounds.
Both people were transported to Miami Valley, where they remain hospitalized. Their identities have not been released, and there’s no information about any potential relationship between the shooting victims.
Family members say they don’t know why the shooting happened. Police tell 2 NEWS at least 5 people were inside the inside that home.
Springfield Police are investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time.
“When they left here, they both had serious — probably life-threatening injuries,” said Sgt. Jerome Montico with the Springfield Police Department.
Earlier, police indicated that there were “at least” two victims in the shooting. It reportedly happened in the 600 block of East Cassilly Street.
