MAD RIVER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Clark County dispatchers got a call Wednesday from a person who said they had a voicemail about a possible homicide.
Deputies were sent to check the area at 1521 Uplands Drive after a woman reported a voicemail from Reese Turton, 60 from Mad River Township. According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the message claimed that Turton had killed his wife and was going to kill himself.
When Deputies spoke with Turton he told them he made the whole story up and had not killed anyone. Clark County dispatchers also received a second call from the person with the message explaining Turton told her it was meant as a joke.
Turton was arrested and charged with inducing panic.and was taken to the Clark County Jail.
