MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – Fuyao Glass America is being charged a penalty for two serious violations by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The first violation involves guarding. According to OSHA documents during an October complaint inspection, guarding was not in place to prevent employees exposures to pinch points created within the rollers system on a line machine. The second violation says covers for service trenches were not secured to prevent accidental movement.
Each violation has a penalty of $7,000 for a total of $14,000.
Fuyao has an informal conference with the OSHA area office next week to discuss the penalties. The glass company also has a current inspection open at the plant. If any more violations are found, OSHA must issue new citations by August.
