TRAVERSE CITY, MI (WDTN) – A Michigan police officer is getting special recognition after helping a mother in need.
The officer pulled over a single mother Saturday when he noticed her child was not in a car seat.
The woman claimed she was unable to afford one. Instead of issuing a ticket Officer Adam Verschaeve purchased and installed a car seat for her.
Officer Verschaeve added, “I mean it’s why I got into this job was to help people and to serve the people of the community. This just happened to be a little above and beyond what is expected of me.”
