One man dead in Springfield crash

A crash on South Limestone Street, near Salem Road in Springfield leaves one person dead and another hospitalized on Monday, April 25, 2016.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is dead, and another hospitalized following a late night crash that may have involved alcohol in Springfield.

It happened on South Limestone Street, near Selma Road just after 9 p.m.

Police dispatch confirms 23-year-old Zachariah Foreman died in the crash.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police dispatch says alcohol is suspected in the crash, but that it won’t be confirmed until an autopsy is performed.

A female passenger in the car was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Her condition is not known at this time.

Investigators say the car was heading north on the road when it lost control and hit a pole.
