Dayton man indicted in fatal shooting

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –  The man who police say shot a man who died at the Dayton VA has been indicted for murder.

Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck said Monday D’shawn Lynch, 20 was indicted in the shooting death of Thomas Lee Johnson.

Prosecutors say Lynch shot the 48-year-old Johnson at a Speedway gas station on Olive Road in Trotwood on April 15. Another person was with Johnson at the time of the shooting drove him to the Dayton VA Medica Center where he died from his injuries.

Monday, Dshawn Lynch was indicted on:

  • Two counts Murder
  • Two counts Felonious Assault
  • One count Trafficking in Counterfeit Controlled Substances
  • One count Intimidation of a Crime Witness
  • One count of Having Weapons While Under Disability

Lynch is currently in the Montgomery County jail being held on $1 million bond.
