Ohio woman, 28-year-old son fatally shot in home


AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police say a woman and her 28-year-old son were fatally shot at their home in northeastern Ohio.

Akron police say 28-year-old Christopher Lane-Freeman was found shot to death in an upstairs bedroom of the home. Police say he had been shot multiple times.

Authorities say 48-year-old Sonia Freeman was shot in the downstairs part of the home. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

A police report says the man was shot about 10 p.m. Sunday. The report says his mother was shot when she confronted the suspects downstairs.

Police say they are still investigating what led up to the shooting and working to identify suspects.

No arrests were immediately made in the case.
