West Carrollton wants to honor those who contribute

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The City of West Carrollton is looking for nominees to be honored in the Plaza of Fame.

Nominations are due by 4:30 p.m. May 16.

The awards are for people who have made unique or noteworthy contributions to making West Carrollton a better place to live.

A three-member city council subcommittee will determine the Plaza of Fame recipient. Some of the guidelines for nominations include:

  • Past city employees, as well as city council and commission members, must be out of the position for at least three years at the time of nomination. Exceptions will be made for posthumous nominations.
  • Nominees must be current or former residents of the city.
  • Because the school district has its own award program, school volunteers will not be considered unless she/he has demonstrated other unique community contributions.

The award recipients will have their names inscribed on a brick in the Civic Center’s Plaza of Fame located near the West Carrollton branch of the Dayton Metro Library.

Applications are available online or at the Civic Center.
