Jarred Collins, 22, and Timothy Deffinger, 23, were arrested on charges of assault.

Police were called to Ned Peppers located at 419 East Fifth Street after 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Bar staff told officers Collins kept trying to come behind the bar, and when he was told to get out from behind the bar, he tried to punch the bartender. A bouncer came over to escort Collins out when Deffinger allegedly punched the bouncer in the head. Collins then reportedly bit the bouncer.

During the fight, a woman tried to separate them and ended up being punched in the face. Also during the scuffle, someone threw a beer bottle and hit an Uber driver’s vehicle that was parked outside waiting on fare.

Collins told police they were in the bar having a good time when a waitress got upset because he didn’t tip her. He said they started to leave the bar when one of the bouncers started to beat them up. One of Collins’ friends told police that Collins did go behind the bar multiple times to fix his hair in the mirrors.

Collins and Deffinger were booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Police are looking into reviewing surveillance video from the incident.
