Oregon District helps celebrate the Kentucky Derby

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Horse racing fans who were unable to make it to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby were able to celebrate in Dayton.

Various restaurants around the Oregon District helped celebrate the Run for the Roses on Saturday.

Brim held a “Make Your Own Lucky Horseshoe” event and Tumbleweed hosted its own form of mini horse racing.

“It’s been a lot of fun to see how creative everyone has been and how everyone pulled together,” said Natalie Skilliter, Owner of Corner Kitchen.

The event was created by the newly-formed “Dames of the District.”

It’s a group made entirely of women who own stores in the Oregon District.
