Passenger killed in Warren Co. investigated as possible suicide

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a possible suicide that happened on the highway in Warren County.

It happened Saturday after 2 a.m. on northbound I-71 near milepost #21.

According to troopers, Thomas Schwartz, Jr., 70, from Skippack, Pennsylvania was driving a white 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche when his passenger Patricia A. Loose, 68, from Green Lane, Pennsylvania exited the car while it was still moving and was hit by another vehicle.

Loose was confirmed dead at the scene.

Schwartz was checked by medics at the scene but refused treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
