Report: Woman assaulted in motel room

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a woman said she was assaulted in her motel room.

Officers were called to the Plaza Motel located at 1728 Stanley Avenue Friday around 3:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, a motel employee directed them to the room where the victim was staying. Police said the victim was agitated when they met with her.

She said she was in her room and her friend came by, forced his way inside, yelled at her, and punched her in the face. She said he then stole $80 and her cell phone and left. The victim told police the man left in a white van.

Police said the woman had a mark under her eye.

The motel worker said she didn’t see the incident but said she did see a man speeding away from the motel parking lot in a white van.

Police are still investigating.
