Dayton police call for assistance after bullet hits cruiser

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton Police are investigating after an early morning call for back-up.

The incident started in the 5500 block of Hoover Avenue at around 11 p.m. Sunday. 

Police originally received a call for a disturbance with a gun. When they arrived on the scene, they saw the alleged suspect car take off.

Police say someone inside that car fired three shots. One of those bullets struck a police cruiser.

Dayton Police then trailed the car for about ten minutes before the two alleged suspects bailed from the vehicle around Gramont Avenue.

Dayton Police arrested Maurice Myles, 26, in connection to the investigation. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on several outstanding warrants. Further charges may be added.
