HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Deputies in Harrison Township call for officer assistance after a man is shot overnight.
Deputies were called to Palisades drive in Northland Village apartment before 12:30 Sunday morning on a suspicious circumstances call.
A deputy says he heard a series of gunshots coming from the area of Gant and Republic drives before responding to the call.
Deputies issued a broadcast for a vehicle seen leaving that area.
The vehicle was spotted, but the driver fled from the scene and hit an unoccupied car in a business parking lot after a deputy attempted to stop it.
A K9 was called to track the male driver who ran from the crash and dropped a handgun while a medic transported a female passenger to the hospital.
More gunshots were heard a short time later before deputies received a call of a male who had been shot.
A deputy arrived in the area and issued a ’99’ officer needs assistance call as a third round of gunshots were heard near his location.
Police crews heard a fourth wave of gunshots from the area of Republic Drive and Embassy Place while responding to that ’99’ call.
Officers and deputies searched the area and found several casings, but no victim.
A male victim later arrived at a local hospital with a single gunshot wound. His injury is considered non-life threatening.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating.
