Cemetery decorations being stolen at an ‘alarming rate’

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Officials at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery say grave decorations are being stolen at an alarming rate.

The cemetery’s manager, Mark Davis says thieves are taking the items, hoping to resell them and make a profit.

“It’s not just here but industry wide, I just talked to a lady last week that had their second set of decorations taken, the saddle on top and the vases on the side removed,” said Davis.

According him, the best way to stop this from happening is by not creating a market for the thieves. He suggests to only buy decorations from reputable stores and not from flea markets or garage sales.
