WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — A man who renters trusted to make repairs is now facing charges after police said he installed cameras in women’s apartments.
Jerry Rowe is charged with voyeurism and burglary.
Officials said Rowe worked as a maintenance man for the Steeplechase apartments in Deerfield Township.
Police said they discovered five cameras in young women’s apartments. The investigation started after one woman spotted a camera in her bathroom.
Tuesday, Rowe was arraigned on charges.
Rowe’s attorney pleaded with a judge that Rowe has no criminal record and should be released on his on recognizance, but prosecutors disagreed.
“You can imagine how violated they feel. These are videos of them in their restroom, videos depicting them nude and using the restroom facilities,” said Mason Prosecutor Bethany Bennett. “They’re very concerned with him being released. That state’s concerned that if he’s released, he’s going to continue this behavior on other individuals.
Bond was set at $200,000. Rowe is due back in court Tuesday.
