Ohio woman missing for 10 days in Tennessee

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police are taking over the investigation of a missing Ohio woman whose car was found abandoned at a Tri-Cities hotel.

While it is early in the investigation, police said they believe Regina Hubler’s disappearance might be suspicious. The 53-year-old traveling nurse has not been seen in 10 days.

Hubler reportedly traveled to Johnson City from her home in Warren County, Ohio earlier this month. Her car was found in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel on North Roan Street where police said she stayed for three nights.

Her daughter, Angela Nickell, said Hubler came to Johnson City to visit friends. But since May 22 no one has heard from her.

“No cell phone, she hasn’t used her debit card, bank card or anything. I just want to know she is okay,” Nickell said. Nickell believes her mom might be in danger and traveled to Johnson City to help find her. Nickell said, “That is why I’m here, that is why I drove six hours to find something out.”

But police have few leads in the case. Detectives said she checked out of the best Western on May 22nd. Surveillance video from the hotel shows Hubler left on her own.

Nickell just wants to know her mother is safe. “Call me let me know that you are okay. I want to know that you are safe,” Angela Nickell said.

If you have any information about Hubler’s location you are asked to call 911, Johnson City Police at  423-928-9111, or the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio at (513) 701-1806.
